Development history
1979 · Set sail
Dr. Michael R. Oliver founded Oliver Valves in a bicycle-only garage in Hale, England. The startup team has only 6 people, and has designed and launched the first batch of needle valve products and successfully marketed.
1995 · The Deep Sea Journey
Oliver Valvetek, a specialist brand of subsea engineering, was established and Paul Shillito was appointed as the engineering director. To meet market demand, the Knutsford production base in Cheshi County was expanded, and the team size increased to 95 people.
2000 · Double Block Revolution
Founded Oliver Twinsafe Company and launched the world's first 8-inch diameter double-cut emission (DBB) valve. Key technical milestones include: • Passed Shell's harsh thermal oil test (200 cycle verification in high temperature and high pressure conditions) • Twinsafe valve for level gauge is certified for registered design • The revolutionary trunnion structure has been patented worldwide (compliant with ASME B16.10 length)
2012 · Royal Double Crown
Oliver Valvetek won the Queen Corporate Award for the first time, demonstrating industry innovation leadership. In the same year, the founder Dr. Michael Oliver was awarded the British OBE, honoring his outstanding contribution to the British manufacturing industry.
2013 · The era of giant valves
The largest valve manufactured to date: 12-inch 2500-pound Twinsafe DBB valve (weight up to 8.5 tons). Purchase 17 acres (about 69,000 square meters) of land on Parkgate Industrial Park to support future development. Michael Oliver received an honorary doctorate from the University of Chester.
2019 · Forty chapters
Celebrating the 40th anniversary of its founding and completing management iteration: Paul Shillito is transferred to technical director, and Nick Howard is promoted to engineering director. The R&D center has moved to the expansion base.
2021 · Break the deadlock
Oliver Hydcovalves was established in the post-epidemic era to expand the application of hydrogen energy and carbon capture. Parkgate Industrial Park has added three new custom chemical plants.
2022 · Win the championship again
Oliver Valvetek won the Queen Enterprise Award for the second time, and the door technology continues to lead the world.
2024 · Forty-five years of British craftsmanship
