Instrumentation
Oliver Valves offers a truly extensive range of small-bore isolation, instrumentation and manifold valves in a wide range of sizes, materials, specifications and pressure classes.

Pipeline And Process
Oliver Twinsafe offers a range of valves in either full or reduced bore sizes, in ASME pressure classes from 150 to 2500 and API 6A ratings up to 10,000 psi. Both soft and metal seated options are available.

Subsea
Oliver Valvetek specializes in subsea, small-bore valve technology for depths down to 3,000m or 10,000ft

Hydrogen
Oliver Hydcovalves provides valve technologies that support hydrogen transport and renewable energy sectors to meet net zero emission target of industrial users by building on the decades of expertise held within the Oliver family of companies.

Development history

1979 Oliver Vlaves Is Established
Dr Michael Oliver established Oliver Valves from his one-car garage in Hale.
The company is formed with only 6 employees. The first needle valve products are designed, tooled up and marketed.

1995 Oliver Valve tek Is Formed
Oliver Valvetek was established as a new division dedicated to the subsea valve market, with Paul Shillito appointed as Engineering Director to spearhead its growth. To support increasing demand, additional factory premises were acquired, and an extension to the original factory provided even greater floor space. The team’s expansion followed suit, growing to 95 employees.

2000 Oliver Twinsafe
In 2000, Oliver Twinsafe Valves Ltd was founded, introducing the double block and bleed valve with an 8’’ bore size. Within a few years, large Twinsafe valves succefully passed Shell’s rigorous hot oil test, enduring an additional 200 cycles under elevated temperature and pressure.
The innovation continued with the design of the Level Gauge Twinsafe, which received a registered design approval. A groundbreaking trunnion Twinsafe concept was also developed, securing a worldwide patent for the Twinsafe standard B16.10 length valve.

2012 Royal Awards
In 2012, Oliver Valvetek was honoured with the prestigiout Queen’s Award, a testament to their excellence and innovation in the industry. That same year, Dr Michael Oliver, founder of the Oliver Valves companies, was awarded an OBE by Her Majesty the Queen, recognizing his outstanding contribution to British manufacturing and engineering.

2013 Size Matters

In 2012, Oliver Valves reached a remarkable milestone with the manufacture of its largest valve to date-a 12’’ 2500 Twinsafe DBB valve weighing an impressive 8-1/2 tonnes. To support future growth, a 17-acre site was acquired on the Parkgate Industrial Estate. That year, Chairman Michael Oliver was also honoured with an Honorary Degreee from the University of Chester, further recognition of his exceptional contributions to industry and engineering.

2019 40 Years And Going Strong

In 2019, Oliver Valves celebrated its 40th anniversary, marking four decades of excellence and Innovation. During this milestone year, Paul Shillito transitioned to the role of Technical Director, while Nick Howard was promoted from R&D Manager to Engineering Director. To support ongoing innovation, the R&D team moved into new, larger premises, ensuring ample space for future developments.

2021 Post-Covid Growth

In 2021, following the challenged of the COVID-19 pandemic, Oliver Hydco Valves Ltd was established, expanding the company’s capabilities in hydrogen and carbon capture applications. To support this growth, three new purpose-built factories were secured on the Parkgate Industrial Estate.

2022 Win the crown again

2022, Oliver Valvetek was honoured with Queen’s Award for the second time, a testament to its continued excellence and innovation in the subsea valve industry.

2024 45 Years Of British Engineering

In 2024, Oliver Valves celebrates 45 years of engineering excellence, marking nearly half a century of innovation and quality. This milestone year also sees Oliver Valves India reading its 20-year anniversary, a testament to our global growth and impact.
